Is 'The Ring' too scary for a 12 year old?

Off course it is scary.....Because in that movie a girl named Samara is portrayed as ghost who haunts a 12 year old boy seeking for the love from his mother. So it is obviously scary for a 12 year old which include lot of scary scenes!
